View Facebook Wall Private: The Secrets of Finding Out What Your Friends Are Hiding

A wall is a collection of all of a Facebook user's posts, as well as the posts from other people that you are connected with on Facebook. As a Facebook user, they have control over how their posts will appear on their Facebook wall. They can choose from the following three different viewing settings for their wall:

The second filter is privacy settings, where users can control who sees their posts and content on their wall. Depending on your privacy settings, you may restrict access to only those people who are connected with you directly (Friends) or make it available for public viewing (Public).

There are a few things that Facebook allows everyone to view. The idea behind this is that you need to ensure that a profile belongs to the person you're looking for before sending a request. For example, you can always see someone's username and profile picture if they have one. If you have mutual friends, you can see those as well. But, you won't see much else. Some users opt to make their work, location, or interests public. A: Yes. After you have received at least 10 responses, you will be able to click on each response and send a message privately as if it were any other form of engagement. You can even write up a template or pre-written response to quickly communicate with anyone who has responded. Note that you may need to approve them as a viewer before they can see the poll.

In my testing, I found that if you are friends with someone you invited, they will also receive notifications in their facebook account (the bell upper right, and a pop-up lower left. You may also see the invite in your regular wall feed.

Most business groups are most effective when set to private and visible. People can find you and you have full control of who gets to see and view group content, giving you the best of both worlds for a balance of quantity and quality while still being findable.

Ms. LAUREN SILVERMAN (Youth Radio Commentator): What's the New What? I say public is the new private. Sometimes I long for the good old days, when people knew me rather than my Facebook profile. YouTube, Flickr and blogging Web sites have forever changed what people consider private. But there's one feature on Facebook, the social networking site I use most, that reveals how people under and over 25 view privacy differently.

Ms. SILVERMAN: But check out Naomi reading what she wrote in her most recent wallpost to me. Ms. SILVERMAN: I'm going to have to fade this out here. Facebook-public is one thing, but public radio-public is a whole other level. The point is, for people under 25, publicly sharing the most personal and the most mundane details is commonplace. In fact, communicating with friends through private channels has become unheard of, even passe. So the last time I got a private Facebook message, I expected it to be super scandalous. Instead, it was my friend Brett Levy(ph) saying...

Many employers conduct professional background checks on potential employees before deciding whether to hire them. However, some employers may also investigate a potential employee's social media profiles, such as a Facebook page. In most cases, an employer can only view your private Facebook page if you allow it.

If an employer knows an individual who is your friend on Facebook, he may be able to view your private profile with the help of that person. However, if an employer accesses your private profile through fraudulent means, such as hacking, you may be able to file a civil lawsuit against him for invasion of privacy. To prevent problems with potential or current employers, you may consider carefully monitoring the content on your Facebook page. 2ff7e9595c
